What’s the process to become an Uplifter?

  1. Apply (3 mins!)

  2. Interview

  3. Sign the contract (If you’re selected)

  4. Training (takes 30 minutes on average)

  5. Our tech team will add you to the Uplifter queue (we aim for this to be done within one week of you signing the contract)

  6. Assessment quiz (10-20 questions)

  7. Reply to users & Earn points

  8. At year-end, tax documents get sent out.

How do I get paid?

All Uplifters earn Points based on their engagement. Once you’ve earned 2,000 Points, you can withdraw them as cash. So far we have 5 ways of earning Points:

  1. Replying to a message from a user in 10 mins or less.

  2. Referring a friend to become an Uplifter. Points are awarded for each Uplifter who successfully onboards and answers their first user message.

  3. Receiving a tip from a user (in this case you’ll receive that payment without needing to reach 2,000 Points.)

  4. Doing a Zoom/phone call with the Joyfully team to help us improve or grow.

  5. A user shares the message you sent.

What tax information do I need to fill out?

At the end of the year, please reach out to us to ask how much money you earned from Joyfully, as we’ll give you the exact number so that you can report it on your taxes. Once you’ve earned $600 or more in the calendar year, PayPal will send you a 1099-K tax form, and you will report this income on forms Schedule C and Schedule SE at tax time. If you’ve earned less than $600 in a calendar year, it’s a bit unclear whether PayPal will send you a 1099-K, but either way, you will still report this income yourself on a Schedule C form, and a Schedule SE form.
